This semester I am teaching one section of N428 at Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire and one section of N477 at Red Cedar Hospital in Menomonie. I am a masters-prepared nurse educator with more than ten years' experience teaching nursing students and an additional ten years as an educator in secondary education. 

I have 3 areas of teaching and research which are: care for older adults, nursing and health informatics and Healing Touch. When I have some empty space, you can find me digging dirt in one of my many gardens. My life long goal is to build healing and healthy environment wherever I go. 

Sonja J. Meiers, PhD, APRN, CNS, PHN, AGCNS-BC, FAAN is the Jane W. and James E. Moore Nursing Research Professor in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Department of Nursing, ÌÇÐÄVloge and Professor Emeritus of Graduate Nursing at Winona State University. Dr. Meiers has led major initiatives to expand enrollment in graduate nursing education programs; increase capacity within advanced practice nursing programs; advocate for advanced practice nursing at the state level; conduct collaborative local, regional, and international family health and family nursing research; and conduct international nursing professional conferences. Dr. Meiers has developed and tested measures of the family health experience that have been translated into a number of languages. Dr. Meiers is committed to mentoring faculty and students in all stages of their programs of scholarship across methodologies. Dr. Meiers received her PhD in Nursing from the University of Minnesota where she focused on the meaning of the family member-nurse interaction, and her master’s degree from Winona State University, where she focused on evidence-based nursing education.
