The Career Closet gives University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire students free professional and business casual attire, so they can feel confident and prepared for interviews, career fairs, networking, and the workplace. Alumni are welcome to access the Career Closet for one year after graduation.

The Career Closet is in Vicki Lord Larson Hall Room 2142.

Items at the Career Closet include suits, jackets, blazers, dress pants, skirts, button-down shirts, blouses, ties, sweaters, and dresses. A fitting room is available to try items on.

  • Please complete the exit survey to give feedback and track usage of the Career Closet.
  • There is no limit to the number of items that can be taken from the Career Closet.
  • Items can be kept, there is no need to return them.

Donations

One box or bag will be accepted per day.  Donations must be clean, purchased in the last 5 years and in good condition, and appropriate for office-based work or interview attire (items like skirts, jackets, collared shirts, dress shirts, dress slacks, sweaters, dress shoes). Good condition hospital scrubs will also be accepted.

The following items are not needed: hangers, jewelry, purses and handbags.

Donations will be sorted during the donation period, and any not accepted materials will be returned. Questions on donations can be directed to careercloset@uwec.edu.

Donations will be accepted at the following times, and by appointment:

Monday:  2pm-4pm
Tuesday: 10am-12pm
Wednesday: 2pm-4pm
Thursday: 10am-12pm
Friday: 8am-9:30am
